Macbook and iPad 16gb up for sellThere's absolutely nothing wrong with any of this equipment. The Macbook is a Late 2007, Early 2008 edition purchased 12/17/2007. I've upgraded the OS to Snow Leopard and besides a light scratch on the iPad there's nothing else wrong with it. Also the iPad has a OtterBox Defender Case that does a pretty good job of keeping the iPad safe. The Macbook has slight wear on it but there's nothing wrong with it besides the CD/DVD drive doesn't play scratch disc very well. The inner case has been replaced by Apple so it doesn't suffer from the chips along the wrist support. Any questions please email me at joshdjoyce@gmail.com. It was touted as the Kindle Killer the death of publishing, the savior of publishing, and the latest and greatest in techno gadgetry known as the iPad. The iPad is basically a large iTouch, with very few little new tweaks and treats to make it any different than any other tablet shown at CES 2010. People have been gossiping and letting the rumors fly as to what this could possibly be, and how it could be used as an e-reader.
For all that customization, B&N reckon there are literally millions of colors to choose from, which can be individually applied to text, pages, highlights and links and there are also eight typefaces and five text sizes, and readers can adjust margins and spacing.
Apple’s iPad makes a killer Web browser, gaming platform and virtual map, but it is really a superior way to read a book compared to e-readers like Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes & Noble’s Nook.
Jobs really revealed that the iPad is a netbook and e-reader heat seeking missile when he outlined the device’s pricing and said that he had very ambitious technical goals and user interface goals, but also aggressive price goals because we wanted to put this in the hands of lots of people. In fact, the pricing probably saved the whole event.
Today, at a special event held in California, Apple CEO Steve Jobs took the stage to once again make a new product announcement and after recapping some recent achievements by the company, including a record-setting Fiscal Quarter 1 of 15.6 Billion dollars, Jobs formally announced Apple's new tablet computer, the iPad.
It’s a great piece of hardware, and will be really good for people who want to play games, watch movies and browse the internet without a computer and as far as e-readers go, it’s still lagging behind in all the important places. That is why Apple iPad is most wanted e-reader, but it's not a runaway.
Ipad may be very interesting and entertaining but it is a great disappointment due to these reasons:
1. No applications multi-tasking apart from for a few apps that come with the device.
2. No camera. That means no video chat or Skype video calling. Some people use such things a lot, I'm reliably informed.
3. Battery life. "Up to 10 hours" is unlikely to be more than a claim in real-world situations. Turn on Wi-Fi or 3G and expect to need to charge it twice a day.
4. Iffy GPS. There's something called Assisted GPS which relies on Wi-Fi or 3G but there's no built-in GPS receiver.
5. No keyboard. OK, it’s true that that's sort of the point, but how many people want big-screen portable computing without a real keyboard? Keyboards on notebooks protect the screen, too.
6. The price. The base model without 3G (and hence rather limited on the move) is $499 which will probably actually convert to just under £500 for the UK market.
7. No USB ports, and you need to buy a Camera Connection Kit to plug in an SD card to transfer your digital photos from a camera.
8. No Adobe Flash support. The supposedly best browsing experience doesn't let you use one of the most popular formats for animation and video on the web.
9. The iPad requires a micro SIM card to use the 3G network but you cannot use your regular 3G SIM card and you’ll have to buy another one to use a 3G network.
10. Most of the people like a tablet PC with a webcam for video-conferencing calls, the A Ipads are not having a front-facing camera or even on the back.
11. The iPad is just an iPhone which is on steroids but its design is awful and not the good one and There are many other beautiful tablets on the market compared to it.
12. Most important, it is very delicate. Not for rough and tough users.
Similarly there are many other reasons for ipads to be a great disappointment.
